FlowTracker firmware updates are delivered automatically over Wi-Fi. Your device checks for updates on each boot and applies them silently.
Your FlowTracker updates itself automatically. If your device is on Wi-Fi, it is already running the latest firmware listed here.
FlowTracker now learns how often your specific USGS gauge publishes new readings — some update every 5 minutes, most every 15, some just once an hour. Instead of checking on a fixed schedule, your device now checks at exactly the right moment: right after a new reading is expected. Data feels more current and the device spends less time fetching stale results.
Added a secondary touch sensor that works through the acrylic cover of the wall-mount enclosure. NEXT, PREV, and INFO buttons now respond to a light touch through the glass — no openings required. The display touchscreen remains active as well; either input works.
Upgraded to a large color TFT display with full landscape layout. Flow and stage readings are shown simultaneously for two gauges at a time. Color-coded status indicators, a scrolling brand ticker, and a live clock round out the new screen.
Added a browser-based configuration page served directly from the device. Set flow and stage thresholds for each gauge, adjust display brightness and dwell time, and search USGS gauges by county — all from your phone or laptop without any app.
Replaced hardcoded network credentials with a captive portal setup flow. On first boot, FlowTracker creates a temporary Wi-Fi network. Connect to it from any device and enter your home network details — no configuration files or cables needed.
Core FlowTracker: connects to Wi-Fi, polls USGS for real-time discharge and gauge height, and displays a live scrolling ticker. The foundation everything else is built on.
